Tasks
Adjust amplitude, frequency, and phase to guide the marble. Earn up to 3 stars per task — unlock the next by completing the previous!
Shift the phase C so that a trough of the wave sits directly under the goal. Task 1
Marble The goal is at y = −4. Set A so the troughs reach that depth. Task 2
Marble The goal is near x = 5. Adjust B (frequency) so a trough lands near x = 5. Task 3
Marble The trough pattern is correct but too high. Adjust d to shift the entire wave downward. Task 4
Marble Negate A to flip the wave. Now the crests are valleys. Task 5
Marble Set B = 3 or higher. The marble vibrates rapidly in the wave. Task 6
Marble Set a very low frequency and moderate amplitude. The marble drifts slowly. Task 7
Marble Only C is in focus here. Nudge the phase until the nearest trough lines up. Task 8
Marble The goal is deep and off-centre. You'll need both A and C working together. Task 9
Marble Full control: tune all four parameters to thread the marble into the tightest goal. Task 10
Marble Start with Trough Hunter to learn how the marble rides a sine wave, then progress through challenges that require precise amplitude, frequency, and phase control. The final Grand Wave Finale combines everything you've learned!
Tip: The marble follows your wave equation exactly — amplitude controls the height, frequency controls how many cycles fit in the window, and phase shifts the wave left or right. Use the sliders to dial in each parameter!
